Hello lovely people who care about and for children,
It’s been a few months since I have connected with you.
Wherever you are right now… whatever you are experiencing right now… hello to you. Hello to your personal joys. Hello to our collective joys. Hello to your personal sadnesses. Hello to our collective sadnesses. Hello to your personal angers and our collective angers. Hello to your personal challenges and triumphs, to our collective challenges and triumphs.
Hello to you—to all you are,
Since I’ve almost always had at least one foot in the world of education, August and September continue to evoke a sense of new beginnings for me. Does this time of the year connect with you similarly?
I asked the following two questions in my experiments in belonging newsletter just now and offer them to you as well (and several other elements written here are the same as in e.i.b. so please bear with me if you are subscribed to both 😉):
Over the summer, have you been able to safely connect with loved ones?
Have you been feeling supported in the midst of the changes you’re moving through—both big and small?
I really do hope so… 😌
Over the summer I’ve been in the midst of changes related to my work and how I share the gifts I embody with others.
In a few weeks I will start teaching at an awesome forest school. When the pandemic first arrived in my neck of the woods, I stopped working directly with children and shifted to solely supporting adults as they supported children in their families, classrooms, and schools.
Supporting adults as they support children is incredibly rich and nourishing. That said, I have learned that directly experiencing the world side-by-side with children is a foundational piece of my life’s work puzzle. This isn’t the first time I’ve learned this, but the greatest lessons probably aren’t learned just once!
In addition to this clarity I have come to, I have realized that I wish to intentionally weave together the ways I support adults. I have been supporting adults by ‘experimenting in belonging’ alongside them, supporting adults through virtual gatherings and workshops, and supporting you through this Well-Resourced newsletter. These two newsletters, and the messages I seek to share, are all being woven together at a new digital homebase: Be With Cassandra! 😁
The tagline I’m playing around with for Be With Cassandra is: “supporting the supporters through experiments in change and belonging, all held by nature.” Whatever the tagline ends up being, Be With Cassandra is my new digital home.
On Tuesday September 7, 2021, I will start to email out weekly posts from Be With Cassandra! Well-Resourced and experiments in belonging will both simply become lovely archives to look back to while Be With Cassandra becomes vibrantly active!
I am also in the process of developing a monthly newsletter that will go out to readers who would like to monetarily support the creative work I offer. More on that as it unfolds!
I am choosing to not just assume that you want to continue this creative journey with me. I would rather check in with you. Do you want to subscribe and follow along with me over at Be With Cassandra? If yes, click here.
This is partially due to the fact that while Well-Resourced has been focused on supporting adults who care specifically about and for children, Be With Cassandra will not only support folks who are in that lovely group but also adults who care about and for… other groups of humans and more-than-humans!
I will not be automatically moving your email address over to my new list. You will need to opt-in by subscribing yourself at Be With Cassandra or replying to this emailed note and telling me you want to opt-in!
I will also be emailing each subscriber individually to check in.
This process of checking in with each subscriber is in accordance with the eight foundational values of my creative work, specifically #4:
4. The ‘we’ is given as much attention as 'you' and 'me.'
I work with humans and more-than-humans who wish to sustain fruitful, joyful, reliable, and mutually beneficial partnerships with me…. [to read on, visit this post on bewithcassandra.com]
Very often it takes more time and patience to attend to the ‘we,’ (a.k.a. the relationship between two or more beings) than just moving onward based solely on my needs and desires or solely yours. The more I make my way through the world, the more I witness and experience the thrill and authenticity of when two or more beings make the time and space to join together in a ‘we.’
Since I seek to nurture the ‘we’ between and amongst each and all of us here, I choose to connect in particular ways. It’s certainly all an experiment. There is no one right way, nor one wrong way, of doing any of this. This value of attending to the ‘we’ reminds me to orient myself to you in an attuned way.
I am excited to see if you would like to continue in this creative journey over at Be With Cassandra! I have been developing Be With Cassandra with you in mind, yes—you, so it may very well resonate.
You can choose to subscribe yourself over at Be With Cassandra or simply reply to this emailed post saying you’d like to subscribe and I will add you to the list.
Do look out for that personal email from me, too!
I don’t plan on sending any more notes through this newsletter so I look forward to connecting with you through Be With Cassandra.
Kindly,
Cassandra
