In this note:
free opportunity to dig into nature and place based learning for children.
Hi there,
Today is the start of a beloved summer program of mine. I’ve been connected to the Prescott College’s Nature and Place Center’s Summer Institute for Nature- and Place-based Early Childhood Education for the past four years now.
In my experiments in belonging newsletter, I shared the other day about what each of the past year’s summer institute set-ups have been like.
Here, in our budding newsletter community, I’ll make it even more to the point:
I believe that children truly do need substantial connection with their place and with nature in order to develop and grow to their potential and to vibrantly live in the present moment.
I have gained so much and expanded my ways of thinking about learning and education by attending, presenting and mentoring for the Summer Institute.
And this year it is available completely virtually, completely free, and you can watch all of the recordings starting today through the whole month of June.
The recordings go live today.
My presentation is entitled How to Be Supported by Nature and Place, While Navigating Transitions and Change.
I’m really looking forward to watching my fellow presenters share their abundance of knowledge and wisdom.
Register here if you’re wanting to learn more about nature and place for children.
Til next week,
Cassandra
P.S. If you were interested in attending Moving from the Marrow but not available at the time/day it was being hosted, you’re in luck! Heather and I decided to reorient a bit and gather a list of interested people and then pick a date/time that works for us all. Reply to this emailed post if you’d like to be added to the interest list.
